In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our coffee production cycle, transforming high-quality green beans into exceptional roasted coffee that delights our customers.
As a Coffee Roaster, you will be responsible for operating commercial roasting equipment, managing roast profiles, and ensuring absolute consistency in every batch. Tanggung Jawab
- Operate commercial coffee roasting machinery safely and efficiently according to established protocols.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust roasting profiles to highlight the unique flavor characteristics of various coffee origins.
- Perform daily quality control checks, including color analysis, moisture testing, and regular cupping sessions.
- Manage green bean inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions and tracking stock levels.
- Perform routine maintenance and deep cleaning of roasting equipment and destoners to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Document roasting logs, batch records, and quality control data accurately.
- Collaborate with the quality control and sourcing teams to evaluate new green coffee samples.
Kualifikasi
- Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience as a Coffee Roaster within the specialty coffee industry.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills (cupping) and a deep understanding of coffee flavor profiles.
- Familiarity with roasting software such as Cropster or Artisan is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of green coffee processing, origins, and grading standards.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy coffee sacks (up to 30kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work in Medan, Sumatera Utara on a full-time schedule.
