Private Advertiser, a leading force in the Indonesian industrial sector, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrument Engineer to join our team in Jakarta Raya. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that define the nation's progress.
As an Instrument Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our plant instrumentation and control systems. You will be responsible for the full engineering lifecycle, from conceptual design and front-end engineering to detailed engineering, commissioning, and ongoing operational support. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver and a technical leader who thrives in a collaborative environment.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, as well as field instrumentation, to deliver innovative solutions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and clients to exceed technical and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, specify, and select instrumentation equipment including transmitters, control valves, flow meters, and analyzers.
- Develop and review control system philosophies, P&IDs, logic diagrams, and functional descriptions.
- Prepare and maintain technical deliverables such as instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and hook-ups.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for control systems.
- Provide expert technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Troubleshoot complex instrumentation and control system issues using root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (ISA, IEC, API) and HSE requirements, including SIL and HAZOP.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system design, safety, and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years of instrumentation engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power sectors.
- Proven proficiency in PLC and DCS configuration (e.g., Siemens, Yokogawa, Allen-Bradley).
- Expertise in AutoCAD and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and SIL lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Willingness to work full-time in Jakarta Raya and travel to project sites.

- Design, specify, and select instrumentation equipment including transmitters, control valves, flow meters, and analyzers for various industrial processes.
- Develop and review control system philosophies, P&IDs, logic diagrams, and functional descriptions for PLC (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), DCS (Yokogawa, Honeywell), and SCADA systems.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality technical deliverables such as instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and installation hook-ups.
- Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure rigorous compliance with project specifications.
- Provide expert technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases for flawless execution.
- Troubleshoot complex instrumentation and control system malfunctions, performing detailed root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with international standards (ISA, IEC, API) and HSE requirements, including SIL assessments and HAZOP studies.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and vendors to optimize system design, safety, and operational efficiency.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven, hands-on experience in instrumentation engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Advanced proficiency in PLC and DCS hardware and software configuration (e.g., Siemens PCS7 / TIA Portal, Yokogawa Centum VP, Honeywell Experion, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix).
- Expert working knowledge of engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI / INtools), or AVEVA Instrumentation.
- In-depth understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) lifecycle, and HAZOP / LOPA methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Willingness to work full-time from our Jakarta Raya office, with flexibility to travel to project sites across Indonesia as required.
