Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Marine Biologist to join our prestigious conservation team in Malaysia. In this role, you will play a vital part in protecting our delicate coastal ecosystems while providing guests with transformative environmental experiences.
As a Junior Marine Biologist, you will support ongoing research projects, monitor coral reef health, and assist in our turtle conservation initiatives. Tanggung Jawab
- Conduct regular surveys of coral reef health and marine biodiversity within protected areas.
- Assist in the implementation of marine restoration projects, including coral propagation and debris removal.
- Collect, record, and maintain high-quality scientific data for long-term conservation research.
- Develop and deliver engaging environmental education programs for resort guests and the local community.
- Maintain specialized field equipment and laboratory tools to ensure operational readiness.
- Support the monitoring and protection of nesting sites for endangered sea turtles.
- Draft internal reports detailing project progress and environmental findings for resort management.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Oceanography, or a closely related field.
- Strong swimming skills and comfort working in deep-water marine environments.
- SCUBA certification (PADI Open Water or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to a lay audience.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a genuine passion for marine sustainability.
