The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Laboratory Manager to lead our cutting-edge research facilities in Singapore.
In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of our scientific success, overseeing day-to-day lab operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and highly efficient environment. You will bridge the gap between high-level research objectives and daily facility management, working closely with Principal Investigators and research staff to ensure resources are optimized and equipment is maintained to the highest standards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in molecular or cell biology research combined with proven experience in laboratory administration, financial oversight, and workplace safety compliance.

Tanggung Jawab
- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring optimal workflow and resource availability.
- Manage procurement of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines, biosafety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate the maintenance, calibration, and repair of critical scientific instrumentation.
- Lead and mentor junior laboratory staff and technicians to foster a culture of excellence and professional development.
- Monitor laboratory budgets, track expenditures, and provide financial reports to management.
- Coordinate facility space planning and equipment inventory management across multiple research wings.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for facility upgrades and specialized research requirements.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a laboratory environment, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, biosafety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Proven ability to manage laboratory budgets and vendor relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse international research teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Experience with ISO certification or equivalent quality management systems is highly desirable.
