Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join a prestigious, multidisciplinary team dedicated to understanding the complex nexus between environmental change, public health, and social resilience across Asia. As the region faces unprecedented climate challenges, this role is critical in generating evidence-based insights to inform policy and adaptive strategies.
In this position, you will lead high-impact research projects focusing on the health implications of climate change, specifically investigating air quality, extreme weather events, and their subsequent social and health impacts on urban populations. You will work alongside world-class academics, utilizing advanced data analytics and field-based methodologies to bridge the gap between environmental science and community resilience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the research agenda, mentoring junior researchers, and disseminating findings through high-impact journals and international policy forums.
Tanggung Jawab
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of research projects related to climate change, air pollution, and human health.
- Conduct advanced statistical modeling and longitudinal data analysis of complex environmental and epidemiological datasets.
- Collaborate with international partners and stakeholders to collect primary data across various Asian urban environments.
- Author and publish high-quality research findings in top-tier peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Prepare research reports and policy briefs for governmental and non-governmental organizations.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and research assistants within the department.
- Represent the university at international conferences, workshops, and scholarly symposia.
- Secure external research funding through competitive grant applications and partnerships.
Kualifikasi
- PhD in Environmental Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of research excellence with publications in reputable international journals.
- Strong expertise in quantitative research methods, including GIS, spatial analysis, or statistical software (e.g., R, Python, STATA).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex scientific findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in managing field research projects, particularly in diverse cultural or urban settings within Asia.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a high-functioning, interdisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to advancing knowledge in climate change resilience and social equity.
- Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced research environment.
