Deskripsi Pekerjaan
Join the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) as a Scientist, Biotransformation & Engineering at the Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI). We are looking for a sustainability innovator to lead R&D in waste valorisation and alternative proteins, driving the bioeconomy and circular economy forward.
As a key researcher within our multidisciplinary team, you will develop and optimize biotransformation processes to convert waste biomass into high-value products, including biochemicals, bioplastics, and nutraceuticals. Your expertise will also contribute to novel alternative protein technologies, such as precision fermentation, cell-based proteins, and plant-based protein extraction, to ensure food security and reduce environmental impact.
You will work in a collaborative environment with access to cutting-edge analytical and processing equipment. Your responsibilities will extend from bench-scale research to pilot-scale validation, working closely with engineers and industry partners to translate discoveries into real-world applications.
We offer a vibrant research culture, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to contribute to A*STAR's strategic thrusts in sustainable manufacturing and food innovation.
This role is ideal for a motivated researcher with a PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline, and a proven track record in biotransformation, enzyme engineering, fermentation, or protein science.
If you are ready to make a difference and shape the future of sustainable science, we look forward to receiving your application.
