- Lead and manage independent research projects focused on applying GIS and spatial analysis to improve diagnostics accessibility and healthcare delivery.
- Develop and implement advanced geospatial models to identify demographic and geographic barriers to diagnostics access, optimizing resource allocation strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with chemists, biologists, clinicians, public health experts, and engineers to integrate GIS insights with novel life science tool development.
- Design and execute experiments, collect and analyze large datasets (geospatial, epidemiological, clinical), and interpret complex results to drive evidence-based recommendations.
- Publish high-impact research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences, enhancing the laboratory's scientific reputation.
- Mentor junior scientists and research fellows, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
- Actively seek and secure external research grants and funding to support ongoing and future projects.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and intellectual property development related to diagnostics accessibility solutions.
Kualifikasi
- PhD in Geography, Geospatial Science, Spatial Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related discipline in Life Sciences with a strong emphasis on GIS applications.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or equivalent experience in applying GIS and spatial analysis within a healthcare, public health, or biomedical research context.
- Proven expertise with leading GIS software platforms (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS) and proficiency in programming languages such for spatial data analysis (e.g., Python with libraries like GeoPandas, R with `sf` and `tmap`).
- Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in handling large and complex datasets, including epidemiological and clinical data.
- Demonstrated track record of scientific publications in high-impact journals and presentations at national/international conferences.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with healthcare policy implications of GIS research and familiarity with novel life science tools or diagnostics chemistry is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and drive research initiatives from conceptualization to publication.
