South Pole is seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist, Standards and Methodologies to join our Compliance Markets team in Singapore. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of the evolving carbon market landscape, playing a critical role in shaping how we track, analyze, and implement standards for compliance certificates.
As part of our global team, you will act as a technical authority, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable methodologies. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external certification bodies to ensure our portfolios maintain the highest levels of integrity and environmental impact. Tanggung Jawab
- Monitor and analyze global developments in compliance carbon markets, including emerging regulatory frameworks and legislative updates.
- Develop and refine methodologies for carbon project compliance, ensuring alignment with international standards and offset program requirements.
- Provide expert technical advice on the eligibility of carbon assets within various compliance jurisdictions.
- Lead engagement with certification bodies, registries, and government agencies to advocate for robust standards.
- Collaborate with the commercial teams to assess the technical feasibility and risk profiles of carbon projects.
- Prepare comprehensive technical briefings and reports for internal stakeholders and clients regarding market trends.
- Support the design and implementation of internal quality assurance processes for project certificates.
Kualifikasi
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in carbon markets, sustainability consulting, or environmental regulatory compliance.
- Deep understanding of compliance market mechanisms, such as EU ETS, CORSIA, or national-level carbon trading schemes.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex methodologies and legal documentation.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in project valuation or environmental accounting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages relevant to Asian carbon markets are a strong asset.
