We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Staff R&D / Product Development Engineer to join our innovative team in Batangas, Philippines. In this high-impact role, you will be the technical lead and driving force behind the development of next-generation socket, high-speed connector, and cable assembly solutions.
You will own the complete product lifecycle from market definition and concept design through rigorous validation, production scale-up, and final market release. As a key member of our global R&D organization, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across product management, marketing, manufacturing, and quality to deliver products that define industry standards for performance and reliability. Tanggung Jawab
- Lead the end-to-end technical development of new socket, high-speed connector, and cable assembly products from initial concept to mass production and final release.
- Define and document product specifications, design inputs, and rigorous verification and validation test plans based on customer needs and industry standards.
- Conduct and lead design reviews, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA, PFMEA), and root cause analysis to ensure robust design quality and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with global Product Management, Program Management, and Operations teams to align product development roadmaps with market strategies and manufacturing capabilities.
- Oversee the prototyping, characterization, and qualification testing phases, providing hands-on technical direction to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Support the successful transfer of new products to high-volume manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal process yield, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
- Mentor and technically guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience in R&D and product development, specifically within the connector, high-speed cables, or electro-mechanical interconnect industry.
- Deep technical expertise in high-speed connector design, signal integrity (SI) fundamentals, and cable assembly manufacturing processes (crimping, molding, stamping, plating).
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) and engineering simulation tools (FEA, Moldflow, or Ansys).
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills in English, with the ability to present technical data effectively to internal teams and external customers.
- Experience working with global customers and suppliers in the data communications, automotive, or industrial sectors is a strong advantage.
