Steel Production Engineer

About the Role:

Our client, a distinguished leader in the steel fabrication and infrastructure sector, is searching for a meticulous and proactive Steel Production Engineer to be based in Klang/Port Klang. This is a high-impact role that places you at the heart of operations, transforming client concepts into robust, real-world structures. You will be the vital bridge connecting the drawing board to the factory floor and finally to the site, ensuring every piece of steel meets exacting standards in design, safety, and quality.

Primary Objective:

Your primary mission is to turn client requirements into smooth coordination between design, factory production, and site implementation for steel structures and telecom towers. You will be the central point of contact ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards, navigating the complexities of the supply chain and production schedule with expert precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret client specifications and translate them into actionable production plans for steel structures and telecom towers.
• Coordinate effectively between the design team, factory production, and site implementation to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee manufacturing processes to guarantee compliance with quality standards, project timelines, and safety regulations.
• Review engineering drawings and provide technical guidance to the production team.
• Conduct root cause analysis on production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure materials and manage resource allocation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the production line to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Prepare technical reports, production schedules, and progress updates for management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in steel structure fabrication, heavy industry, or telecom tower manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, welding standards (e.g., AWS, ISO), and material specifications.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD files.
• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and project management skills.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and health & safety standards is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
