Are you passionate about championing the rights and welfare of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs)? The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Tribal Affairs Assistant II to join our vital team in the Ilocos Region.

As a Tribal Affairs Assistant II, you will play a crucial role in supporting the NCIP's mandate to protect and promote the rights of indigenous peoples, ensure their self-determination, and preserve their rich cultural heritage. You will work closely with indigenous communities, local government units, and various stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of programs and projects that align with the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997. Tanggung Jawab

  • Assist in the conduct of community consultations, dialogues, and meetings with ICCs/IPs.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for NCIP programs and activities in the Ilocos Region.
  • Help in the documentation and profiling of ICCs/IPs, their ancestral domains, and cultural practices.
  • Facilitate the processing of community-based applications and requests related to IP rights and services.
  • Prepare reports, correspondences, and other relevant documents pertaining to tribal affairs.
  • Coordinate with local government units, NGOs, and other partner agencies on matters concerning indigenous peoples.
  • Monitor the implementation of NCIP-initiated projects and activities within designated areas.
  • Assist in the promotion and dissemination of information regarding IPRA Law and other relevant policies.

Kualifikasi

  • Bachelor's Degree relevant to Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Administration, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • Civil Service Eligibility (Professional or Sub-Professional) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with indigenous communities or related advocacy groups is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act (Republic Act 8371) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cultural sensitivity skills.
  • Proficiency in local dialects prevalent in the Ilocos Region is an asset.
  • Competent in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote indigenous communities within the Ilocos Region.
