SBS Transit, one of Singapore's leading public transport operators, is seeking a dedicated Central Recovery Service Technician to join its team in Seletar. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient recovery of breakdown and accident buses, ensuring minimal disruption to commuters and maintaining the highest standards of service reliability.
As a Recovery Service Technician, you will respond to emergencies and breakdowns on the road, diagnose issues, and perform necessary recovery operations. You will work closely with depots and traffic management to coordinate recovery, operate specialized equipment, and uphold strict safety protocols. This role requires a proactive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site and roadside recovery of breakdown and accident buses.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults during recovery operations.
- Operate recovery vehicles, tow trucks, and lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with depot personnel and traffic authorities to clear roadblocks and minimize delays.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of recovery equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of each recovery job, including incident reports and vehicle condition.
- Adhere to all workplace safety and health regulations, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
- Provide support during emergency situations and special events as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum NITEC or Diploma in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in vehicle recovery, heavy vehicle maintenance, or a similar role.
- Valid Singapore Class 3 or 4 driving license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with bus systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical) is an advantage.
- Strong trouble-shooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
- Certification in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) is a plus.
