As a Commis Chef at SUMAK, you will be at the heart of our kitchen operations, learning the authentic techniques of Turkish cooking. We pride ourselves on using fresh ingredients and traditional methods to deliver an exceptional dining experience. This role is perfect for a hardworking individual who is eager to master new skills, maintain high kitchen standards, and grow within a supportive, professional culinary environment.

Tanggung Jawab

  • Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily food preparation and mise-en-place.
  • Ensure all ingredients are prepared, washed, and chopped according to standard recipes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in basic stock management and storage.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure efficient food flow.
  • Follow kitchen standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food handling and preservation.
  • Prepare basic sauces, salads, and garnishes as directed by senior chefs.
  • Participate in ongoing training to improve cooking techniques and product knowledge.

Kualifikasi

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or a Culinary School graduate.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP knowledge is a plus).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Punctual, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic command of English is preferred.
  • Passion for Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable.
