MINDS (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore) is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join our vibrant team at Towner Gardens School. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with lead teachers to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment that empowers students to reach their full potential.
As an LSO, you will play an essential role in the daily operations of our classrooms, facilitating learning activities and providing the necessary behavioral and physical support for our students. This one-year contract position is ideal for individuals who are patient, empathetic, and eager to contribute to a collaborative educational setting. Tanggung Jawab
- Assist lead teachers in the preparation and execution of daily lesson plans and school programmes.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students with varying learning needs.
- Assist students with personal care and daily living activities to encourage independence.
- Monitor and record student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones as required.
- Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) within the classroom.
- Facilitate classroom management and maintain a safe, conducive learning environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and social workers, to enhance student support.
- Participate in school events, excursions, and extracurricular activities as needed.
Kualifikasi
- Minimum GCE 'O' Level, 'N' Level, or equivalent professional certification in Special Education or related fields.
- Prior experience in a special education setting, preschool, or childcare environment is highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital documentation tools.
- Resilience and flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the classroom environment.
- Must be comfortable assisting with personal hygiene care for students when necessary.
