PT Temas Shipping is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Ordinary Seaman (OS) to join our maritime team in Jakarta. As an integral part of our deck department, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. We are looking for an individual who is physically fit, disciplined, and eager to contribute to high-standard maritime operations under the guidance of our experienced Boatswain and deck officers.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the shipping industry with a reputable company. You will be responsible for general deck maintenance, ensuring vessel cleanliness, and assisting with critical deck activities. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols and maritime regulations at all times.
Tanggung Jawab
- Assist the Boatswain and deck officers in daily deck operations and routine tasks.
- Perform general ship maintenance, including chipping, painting, and cleaning of deck areas.
- Operate deck machinery and assist in mooring, unmooring, and anchoring operations.
- Maintain vessel cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with company policy.
- Participate in emergency drills and safety inspections as required by the Safety Management System.
- Handle cargo gear and equipment under supervision to ensure efficient loading and unloading.
- Perform lookout duties during bridge watch to ensure navigational safety.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to the Officer on Watch.
Kualifikasi
- Minimum High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Possess valid maritime certification (BST, SCRB, AFF) as per STCW standards.
- Seaman Book (Buku Pelaut) that is active and valid.
- Proven physical fitness and ability to work in a demanding maritime environment.
- Basic understanding of deck equipment and ship maintenance procedures.
- Strong discipline, punctuality, and ability to work well within a multicultural team.
- Fluent in Indonesian; basic proficiency in English is preferred.
- Previous experience on container vessels or cargo ships is a significant advantage.
