Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a highly skilled Property Risk Engineer to join our dynamic risk management team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your engineering expertise to evaluate complex property risks and provide critical support to our underwriting partners. Tanggung Jawab
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and physical site inspections for commercial property accounts.
- Analyze complex construction types, building materials, and architectural plans to determine structural integrity.
- Review engineering reports, loss history, and fire protection systems to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Provide technical underwriting support and guidance to underwriting teams regarding complex risks.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines specific to property exposures and construction methods.
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to explain risk engineering findings and mitigation strategies.
- Utilize advanced risk modeling software and data analytics tools to support pricing decisions.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in property risk engineering, loss control, or underwriting support.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, fire protection systems, and construction techniques.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and client meetings.
