We are seeking a skilled and experienced Special Process Technician specializing in Thermal Spray to join our dynamic team in the Pioneer area of Singapore. In this critical hands-on role, you will be responsible for applying specialized thermal spray coatings to a diverse range of high-value aerospace, oil & gas, and industrial components, ensuring strict adherence to customer specifications and rigorous quality standards.
As a vital member of our production operations, you will expertly set up, operate, and perform preventive maintenance on advanced thermal spray equipment, including HVOF, plasma arc, and twin-wire arc systems. You will conduct thorough in-process and post-process inspections of coated parts using a variety of precision measuring tools, perform quality control checks, and actively troubleshoot any process deviations to maintain optimal production throughput and scrap reduction. Your technical expertise will directly contribute to enhancing the durability, wear resistance, and overall performance of mission-critical components.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, an unwavering attention to detail, and a deep understanding of coating processes, material science, and metallurgy. You will work closely with our engineering and quality assurance teams to develop, validate, and refine application parameters for new and existing part numbers. Proficiency in interpreting engineering blueprints, understanding surface preparation protocols (grit blasting, masking, cleaning), and maintaining a 5S-organized and safe work environment is paramount for success in this position.

Tanggung Jawab
- Set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on Thermal Spray equipment including HVOF, Plasma, and Twin-Wire Arc systems.
- Prepare component surfaces through precision grit blasting, masking, and chemical cleaning according to detailed technical specifications.
- Apply specialized coating materials (powders, wires) to achieve exact thickness, bond strength, and material property requirements.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections using profilometers, micrometers, boroscopes, and other NDT methods.
- Troubleshoot coating defects, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and material waste.
- Maintain meticulous production logs, quality documentation, and material inventory records in compliance with company procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations and maintain a clean, organized 5S workspace.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize robotic spray paths and application parameters for continuous improvement initiatives.
Kualifikasi
- Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of proven, hands-on experience in Thermal Spray processes within an aerospace, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong foundational knowledge of metallurgy, material science, and the characteristics of various thermal spray coatings.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
- Hands-on experience with quality control tools such as surface profilometers, micrometers, calipers, and hardness testers.
- Ability to work rotating shifts if required and manage tasks independently in a fast-paced, target-driven production setting.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, meticulous documentation skills, and a strong commitment to precision and quality.
- Demonstrated safety-first mindset with a thorough understanding of industrial workplace safety practices.
