In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in the US mortgage processing industry by conducting thorough research and analysis of property records. Your expertise will ensure that all title defects, liens, and encumbrances are identified before mortgage funding, safeguarding our clients' investments.
As a Title Examiner, you will be responsible for verifying the legal ownership of real estate properties and ensuring there are no hidden claims or issues that could affect the transfer of title. - Conduct comprehensive title searches on US properties to verify ownership history and identify any potential issues.
- Analyze chain of title documents to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Review public records, such as deeds, judgments, and tax records, to identify liens or claims against the property.
- Communicate findings and title commitments to underwriters and internal stakeholders clearly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant US state and federal regulations regarding real estate transactions.
- Update and maintain accurate records of all examination results within the company database.
- Assist in the preparation of title reports and commitments as required by the underwriting team.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Law, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Title Examiner, specifically within the US Mortgage sector.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot minor errors in complex legal documents.
- Excellent research skills and proficiency in using public record databases and online resources.
- Familiarity with real estate terminology, title commitment formats, and standard exceptions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
