Komatsu East Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., the exclusive authorized distributor for Komatsu, Bomag, and LS heavy equipment in the region, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Mechanic to join our technical operations team in Tawau, Sabah.
This is an excellent entry-level position for individuals who are passionate about heavy machinery and eager to build a long-term career in a dynamic industry. You will undergo a structured training program combining classroom theory and extensive hands-on experience in our modern workshop. Under the close guidance of experienced master technicians, you will learn the core skills required to diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy construction, mining, and agricultural equipment.
Your daily responsibilities will include assisting with preventative maintenance, component overhauls, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on world-class machinery. We seek candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude, high attention to safety, and a genuine drive to learn.

Tanggung Jawab
- Assist senior mechanics in performing routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing of Komatsu, Bomag, and LS heavy equipment.
- Learn and apply diagnostic techniques to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain faults.
- Participate in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of engines, transmissions, final drives, and undercarriages.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with company safety standards.
- Complete accurate and timely service reports, job cards, and parts requisition requests.
- Support the service team in field service operations across the Sabah region when required.
- Actively participate in all technical training sessions and manufacturer certification programs provided.
- Contribute to inventory management by ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.
Kualifikasi
- Possesses a minimum SPM / Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or equivalent, with credits in Mathematics and Science.
- Vocational certificate or diploma in Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is highly advantageous.
- Fresh graduates and school leavers with a strong mechanical interest are encouraged to apply.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine passion for heavy machinery and diesel engines.
- Basic understanding of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and workplace safety protocols.
- Must possess a valid Malaysian driving license (Class D). Possession of a GDL or E license is a strong advantage.
- Willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and perform field service duties across Sabah as required.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
