We are seeking a skilled AIX Associate Engineer to support and maintain our critical IBM AIX infrastructure in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our UNIX-based systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to handle daily system administration, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement best practices for system optimization. Tanggung Jawab
- Perform daily system monitoring and health checks to ensure high availability and optimal performance of AIX servers.
- Execute routine administrative tasks including patch management, file system maintenance, and user account administration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software incidents, escalating critical issues to senior teams when necessary.
- Manage and configure Logical Partitions (LPARs) and Hardware Management Console (HMC) settings.
- Implement and enforce system security policies, access controls, and auditing procedures.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and verification of system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning initiatives.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX system administration.
- Strong proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Korn, or C Shell) for automation and monitoring.
- Familiarity with Veritas NetBackup, SAN storage, and network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Ethernet).
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, specifically PowerVM or HMC.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid AIX System Administration certification (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist) is a significant plus.
