Are you an experienced Engineer with a passion for SMT manufacturing technology? Test Research Innovation (TRI) Malaysia is seeking a talented Field Application Engineer to join our elite technical team in Penang. In this role, you will be the technical face of our industry-leading AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), SPI (Solder Paste Inspection), and AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection) systems.
You will play a critical role in supporting our high-profile manufacturing clients, ensuring their inspection processes are optimized for precision and efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge machine vision technology, perform on-site troubleshooting, and contribute directly to the success of world-class electronics manufacturing operations.

Tanggung Jawab
- Provide on-site technical support, installation, and commissioning of AOI, SPI, and AXI inspection systems at customer facilities.
- Conduct professional training for customer operators and engineers on system operation and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing timely resolution to minimize production downtime.
- Optimize inspection programs and refine algorithms to improve detection accuracy and reduce false calls.
- Collaborate with internal R&D and global support teams to address complex technical challenges and feature requests.
- Generate detailed technical reports and documentation for all field activities and support requests.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the client's manufacturing workflow.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in SMT industry, specifically with inspection equipment (AOI/SPI/AXI).
- Strong knowledge of machine vision, image processing, and digital electronics.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of technical aptitude.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively support diverse manufacturing environments.
- Ability to travel to customer sites across the region as required.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of Mandarin is an added advantage.
