Are you a visionary architectural professional ready to take on a leadership role in one of Malaysia's most dynamic construction environments? Hays Recruitment is seeking an Architectural Design Manager to spearhead architectural design initiatives for major construction projects in Kuala Lumpur.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire architectural design process from concept development through to construction documentation. You'll lead a talented team of architects and designers, ensuring that all design outputs meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic excellence while adhering to local building codes and regulations.
Your expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) will be instrumental in coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts and optimizing project delivery. You'll collaborate closely with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and project stakeholders to deliver cohesive, innovative design solutions that enhance project value and client satisfaction.
A key focus of this position involves implementing value engineering strategies that balance design intent with budget constraints, material availability, and construction feasibility. You'll conduct design reviews, identify cost-saving opportunities, and propose alternatives that maintain design integrity without compromising quality.

Tanggung Jawab
- Lead and manage architectural design activities for major construction projects from concept to completion
- Oversee the development of design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation using BIM software
- Implement and enforce BIM standards and workflows to ensure design coordination across disciplines
- Conduct value engineering analysis to optimize designs for cost, constructability, and sustainability
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design issues and ensure alignment with project objectives
- Mentor and guide junior architects and design team members to foster professional growth
- Review and approve design deliverables for compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Present design concepts and recommendations to stakeholders and management as required
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized institution
- Minimum 8-10 years of architectural design experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Professional registration with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) or equivalent
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian building codes, regulations, and approval processes
- Demonstrated experience in managing design teams on large-scale commercial or residential projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Malay language proficiency is advantageous
- Strong project management abilities with experience in design-phase scheduling and resource allocation
