Are you a seasoned hospitality professional with a flair for delivering impeccable events? Private Advertiser, a prestigious entity within Singapore's dynamic hospitality landscape, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Banquet Operations Manager to join our highly acclaimed team.
The Opportunity
In this exciting role, you will step into the heart of our banquet operations, taking full ownership of executing flawless events - from intimate VIP dinners to grand-scale corporate conferences and social celebrations. You will ensure every function reflects the hotel's unwavering commitment to luxury, quality, and service excellence.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the daily operations of the banquet department, ensuring the highest standards of service, food quality, and presentation are consistently delivered for all events and functions.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of banquet captains, servers, and setup crew, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary, sales, and events teams to plan, coordinate, and execute banquet events according to client specifications and hotel standards.
- Manage banquet event orders (BEOs), conduct pre-event briefings, and ensure all operational requirements are met efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels of banquet equipment, linens, and supplies, coordinating with procurement to ensure optimal stock and cost control.
- Conduct regular inspections of function rooms and public areas to maintain impeccable cleanliness, setup, and ambiance.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring swift resolution and proactive service recovery to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Assist in managing the banquet budget, controlling labor costs, and maximizing revenue through efficient resource allocation and upselling opportunities.
Who You Are
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in banquet operations within a luxury hotel or high-volume convention center.
- Proven track record in leading large service teams and managing complex, multi-faceted events.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards, wine pairing, and event logistics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Malay, Japanese) is a strong advantage for liaising with international clients.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in hotel property management systems (PMS) and event management software (e.g., Opera, Delphi, or similar).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the event calendar.
