Are you passionate about building scalable, cloud-native infrastructure that powers some of the world's most popular applications? ByteDance is seeking talented Backend Software Engineer Interns to join our Foundational Technology team in Singapore for the 2026 cohort.
Our team is responsible for designing and building ByteDance's cloud-native infrastructure, which serves as the backbone for all of the company's revolutionary products. As an intern on this team, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on mission-critical systems that handle massive scale, high availability, and performance optimization.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and infrastructure components supporting ByteDance's cloud-native platforms
- Collaborate with senior engineers on the development of scalable distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Contribute to system design discussions and provide technical insights for infrastructure improvements
- Monitor and optimize system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Document technical specifications, architecture designs, and implementation details
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule
Kualifikasi
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Strong programming skills in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++
- Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, distributed systems, or containerization technologies
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and experience with database design principles
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Passion for learning new technologies and interest in building scalable, high-performance systems
