SBS Transit is seeking a dedicated Central Recovery Service Technician to join our dynamic fleet operations team in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient on‑site recovery of breakdown or accident buses on major roads and highways, minimizing service disruptions and ensuring the safety of passengers, drivers, and other road users.
You will work closely with our maintenance, traffic control, and emergency response teams to execute recovery plans, operate specialized recovery equipment, and document incident details. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, possesses strong mechanical knowledge, and demonstrates a commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include rapid response to bus failures, safe extraction and transport of vehicles, strict adherence to Singapore road safety regulations, clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, accurate record‑keeping, routine equipment checks, and ongoing training to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.
Tanggung Jawab
- Respond promptly to bus breakdown or accident calls across the North‑East Region and beyond.
- Perform safe on‑site/road recovery of damaged or disabled buses using industry‑standard equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore road safety regulations and SBS Transit safety protocols.
- Coordinate with traffic management, emergency services, and internal teams to streamline recovery operations.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, recovery actions, and equipment usage.
- Conduct routine checks and minor maintenance on recovery tools and vehicles.
- Participate in training sessions and safety drills to stay updated on best practices.
Kualifikasi
- Minimum NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, or heavy‑vehicle maintenance.
- Valid Singapore Class 2 or 3 driving license, with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of heavy‑vehicle safety standards and road traffic regulations.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on safety.
- Certification in heavy‑vehicle recovery or emergency response is advantageous.
