Waterco, a recognized global leader in the water treatment, filtration, and pool and spa equipment industries, is expanding its engineering operations in Malaysia. We are currently looking for a dedicated and results-oriented Chemical Engineer to join our manufacturing facility in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This role is pivotal in driving the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes that underpin our production of high-quality water treatment solutions.
As a Chemical Engineer at Waterco, you will be the technical backbone of our production scale-up and process improvement initiatives. Your primary focus will be on translating R&D formulations into robust, efficient, and safe manufacturing processes. You will work on optimizing reaction kinetics, mixing protocols, and separation processes to maximize yield and minimize waste. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex process issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure operational excellence.
Your daily responsibilities will involve close collaboration with the Quality Control team to ensure all products meet stringent industry and company standards. You will also work with the maintenance team to specify and optimize equipment for chemical processing, including reactors, pumps, and filtration systems. A key part of your role will be to champion safety and environmental stewardship, ensuring all processes comply with local regulations and Waterco's global EHS policies. You will lead risk assessments (HAZOP, PHA) and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing processes.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design and develop chemical processes for the manufacturing of water treatment and pool chemicals.
- Optimize existing production processes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct process simulations and material/energy balance calculations.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for process deviations and equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with R&D to scale up new products from pilot plant to full-scale production.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, P&IDs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations.
- Manage capital projects related to process improvements and new equipment installation.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial chemical environment.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is an advantage.
- Proven experience with process optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
