Diamond H Marine Svcs. & Shipping Agency Inc. is currently seeking a qualified Chief Engineer to join our fleet of Bulk Carriers operating in the domestic coaster trade. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maritime professional to contribute to our growing shipping operations.
As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all deck machinery, auxiliary systems, and engine room equipment aboard our general cargo vessels. You will oversee engineering operations ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies while maintaining optimal vessel performance.
Tanggung Jawab
- Manage all engine room operations and maintenance activities for bulk carrier vessels
- Supervise engine room crew and coordinate with deck officers for smooth vessel operations
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of main propulsion engines, generators, and auxiliary systems
- Monitor fuel consumption and implement efficiency measures to optimize operational costs
- Maintain technical documentation, engine logs, and compliance records per maritime regulations
- Coordinate with shore-based technical teams for repairs and dry docking requirements
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment failures and downtime
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company quality standards
Kualifikasi
- Valid Chief Engineer Officer (Unlimited) or Motor Vessel certification from MARINA
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer on coaster/general cargo vessels
- Proficient in diesel engine maintenance, auxiliary systems, and deck machinery operations
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations and pollution prevention guidelines
- Experience with Bulk Carrier operations and cargo handling systems preferred
- Good leadership and communication skills with ability to manage multicultural crew
- Physically fit and able to work in marine environment for extended periods
- Holder of valid Seaman's Book and relevant STCW certifications
