Scanmar Maritime Services is seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to join our team for our reefer vessel operations. As a leader in maritime services, we specialize in managing a diverse fleet including bulk carriers, container ships, general cargo vessels, passenger ships, reefer vessels, ro-ro vessels, chemical tankers, product tankers, and oil tankers. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced maritime engineer to take charge of the engineering department on a reefer vessel, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of all shipboard systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with refrigerated cargo systems and a deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with maintaining temperature-controlled environments during transit. You will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment aboard the vessel.

Tanggung Jawab
- Oversee all engineering operations and maintenance activities on the reefer vessel
- Manage and supervise the engineering team, ensuring proper training and performance
- Monitor and maintain refrigeration systems critical for cargo preservation
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
- Coordinate with shore-based technical support for troubleshooting and system optimization
- Prepare and maintain engineering reports, maintenance logs, and technical documentation
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for the engineering department
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize vessel uptime and efficiency
Kualifikasi
- Certified Chief Engineer with valid STCW certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Chief Engineer or similar senior position
- Specific experience with refrigerated cargo systems and reefer vessels
- Strong technical knowledge of marine propulsion, electrical, and refrigeration systems
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
- Valid seafarer's medical certificate and other required certifications
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills
