Scanmar Maritime Services is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our refrigerated cargo vessel operations on a 2-month contract. As a key member of our diverse maritime fleet – including bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, and specialized reefer vessels – you'll be responsible for maintaining critical refrigeration systems, ensuring cargo integrity, and optimizing vessel performance. Tanggung Jawab
- Oversee operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems and cargo hold temperature controls
- Lead engineering team training, performance reviews, and safety drills
- Coordinate vessel maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime
- Ensure compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, and IMO refrigeration regulations
- Manage engineering budgets, spare parts inventory, and equipment procurement
- Investigate and resolve complex mechanical failures and system malfunctions
- Prepare technical reports for classification societies and charterers
Kualifikasi
- Chief Engineer Class 1 certification (STCW compliant)
- Minimum 5 years' experience on reefer vessels or refrigerated cargo ships
- Proven expertise in Carrier, Daikin, or similar refrigeration systems
- Strong leadership background managing engineering teams (4+ personnel)
- Advanced knowledge of refrigeration cycle, thermodynamics, and HACCP protocols
- Valid MARINA certification and relevant flag state endorsements
- Fluent English communication skills with technical writing ability
