Are you passionate about the culinary arts and looking to kickstart your career in a vibrant hospitality environment? Flamingo Hotel By The Beach, located in the scenic Tanjung Bungah, Penang, is seeking a motivated and energetic Commis II / Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic culinary team.

As a Commis II, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, working closely with senior chefs to prepare high-quality dishes for our guests. We provide a supportive environment where you can develop your culinary skills, learn international standard food preparation techniques, and grow within a reputable hospitality brand. Tanggung Jawab

  • Assist senior chefs with daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and marinating ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas, adhering to HACCP and local health safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring all stations are adequately stocked with fresh supplies.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support smooth meal service operations.
  • Support the team during peak hours by plating dishes accurately according to hotel standards.
  • Assist in the receiving and proper storage of food deliveries, ensuring stock rotation (FIFO) is followed.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude while collaborating with front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

Kualifikasi

  • Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent; certificate in Culinary Arts or related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a kitchen environment, hotel setting, or restaurant is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during busy service periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and rotating schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and highly disciplined.
