In this critical role, you will assist in sea vessel operations, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of crew members, passengers, and freight. As a Deckhand, you will be involved in the daily upkeep of the vessel and the execution of deck duties under the direct supervision of the Chief Officer. Tanggung Jawab
- Assist in the mooring, unmooring, and securing of vessels at docks and ports.
- Operate winches, davits, and other deck machinery to hoist and lower lines safely.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo, provisions, and supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the deck area and deck equipment.
- Follow all maritime safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in emergency drills and maintain readiness for onboard emergency situations.
- Report any mechanical issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the Chief Officer immediately.
Kualifikasi
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- Previous experience in maritime operations, shipping, or logistics is highly preferred.
- Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions and long hours.
- Valid seaman’s book or maritime certification (if available).
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Willingness to travel and work on board vessels as required.
