We are seeking a skilled Defect Management Process Engineer to join our team at United Microelectronics Corporation (Singapore Branch) located in Pasir Ris, Singapore. As a leading global semiconductor foundry, UMC is dedicated to delivering high-quality integrated circuits. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and ownership of in-line defect abnormality escalation, handling, and disposition. Your vigilance and analytical skills will ensure that defect issues are promptly addressed to minimize impact on production yield and cycle time.
You will perform detailed defect data analysis, utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including process integration, equipment engineering, and quality assurance. Through systematic problem-solving and root cause analysis, you will drive defect reduction initiatives and contribute to the overall yield enhancement strategy. Additionally, you will develop and maintain defect monitoring procedures, document best practices, and participate in audits and customer reviews.

Tanggung Jawab
- Monitor and own day-to-day in-line defect abnormality escalation, handling, and disposition
- Perform real-time defect data analysis and SPC monitoring to ensure process control
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Drive defect reduction projects to improve yield and quality
- Develop and maintain documentation for defect management procedures and best practices
- Support new product introductions and process qualifications from a defect perspective
- Generate and present regular defect performance reports to management
- Continuously improve defect detection and classification methodologies
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in semiconductor defect management or process engineering
- Strong knowledge of defect inspection tools (e.g., KLA, AMAT, Hitachi) and defect classification methods
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Spotfire, Excel)
- Experience with yield enhancement methodologies and root cause analysis (FMEA, 8D, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
