Join Scanmar Maritime Services as an Electrician / ETO!
Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. (POEA License No. POEA-041-SB-050217-R-MLC-TP), a premier manning agency committed to excellence, is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician / Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) to join the crew of our modern offshore vessels operating on worldwide trade routes.
In this critical sea-going role reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of the entire electrical and electronic plant onboard. Your expertise will encompass managing HV/LV power systems, generators, motors, switchboards, and advanced navigation, communication, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems. You will perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot complex technical faults, and uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.
We are looking for a candidate who holds a valid ETO COC (III/6) recognized by MARINA/PRC, has significant sea service on offshore or DP vessels, and possesses a proactive, safety-first mindset. Tanggung Jawab
- Operate, monitor, and maintain all electrical and electronic equipment, including generators, switchboards, motors, and HV/LV power distribution systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on navigation aids (Radar, GPS, AIS, ECDIS, GMDSS) and communication systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in automation systems, PLCs, and control circuits to minimize vessel downtime.
- Maintain and calibrate Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems and associated sensors and thrusters (as applicable).
- Oversee maintenance of safety systems including fire detection, emergency lighting, fire dampers, and sprinkler systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, high voltage safety rules, and Permit to Work systems.
- Manage inventory of electrical spares, tools, and consumables; prepare technical reports and requisitions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engine room ratings and assist the engineering team during watch duties.
Kualifikasi
- Valid and fully stamped ETO COC (III/6) or Marine Electrician license issued by PRC or MARINA.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of sea service as ETO or Electrician on Offshore Vessels, AHTS, PSVs, or DP Ships.
- Strong knowledge of HV safety rules and operations; Advanced HV certification is highly preferred.
- Certified in Basic Safety Training (BST), Advanced Fire Fighting, Medical First Aid, Proficiency in Survival Craft (PSCRB), and Security Awareness.
- Proven experience with automation systems (e.g., Kongsberg, Siemens, ABB) and PLC programming is an advantage.
- Valid Flag State Endorsement, COP, and GMDSS GOC / ROC certificates.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Willing and available to join on short notice. Must possess a valid Passport and applicable visas (US, Schengen, etc.).
