- Conduct in-depth analysis of the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) to identify price trends and drivers.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial and econometric models to forecast electricity prices, demand, and supply.
- Monitor regulatory developments from the Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and assess their market impact.
- Prepare high-quality client-facing reports, presentations, and dashboards on energy market fundamentals.
- Support the business development team by providing technical expertise in proposals and client meetings.
- Manage energy databases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely updates of market data.
- Contribute to thought leadership pieces, including white papers and blog posts on Philippine energy topics.
- Collaborate with internal teams to model the financial impact of new power projects and retail contracts.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial), Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in energy market analysis, power trading, or utility consulting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VBA, complex financial modeling).
- Strong understanding of the Philippine energy industry structure, including WESM rules and the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly preferred.
- Experience with SQL or Python for data manipulation and analysis is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
