Are you a dedicated environmental professional looking to make a tangible impact in the heavy industrial sector? Flintex Consulting is currently partnering with a major steel manufacturing facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor, to appoint a proactive Environmental Officer. This is a critical role for a candidate passionate about sustainability, industrial compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of environmental stewardship within a high-output production environment.
In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all environmental matters on-site. You will ensure that our manufacturing processes align with local Department of Environment (DOE) regulations and internal corporate sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic steel plant environment, effectively managing waste treatment systems, monitoring emissions, and championing a culture of environmental awareness across all departments.
Tanggung Jawab
- Monitor and evaluate site environmental performance to ensure full compliance with DOE regulations and ISO 14001 standards.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of scheduled waste management systems, including storage, labeling, and disposal protocols.
- Conduct regular environmental audits, site inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
- Coordinate with internal departments to implement pollution control measures for water, air, and noise emissions.
- Manage the preparation and submission of accurate environmental reports and permits to relevant government authorities.
- Lead employee training programs regarding environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and sustainable site practices.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avoid recurrence.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an environmental role, preferably within a heavy manufacturing, steel, or chemical plant.
- Valid certification or registration with relevant environmental bodies (e.g., CePSWaM, CePIETSO) is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation, specifically the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and produce detailed compliance reports.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a high-pressure industrial environment and collaborate with operational teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Malay to facilitate reporting and training.
