Career Opportunity: Facilities Technician
Coherent, a global leader in engineered materials, optoelectronic components, and optical systems, is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Facilities Technician to join our dynamic operations team at our premier manufacturing facility in Perai, Penang.
In this essential role, you will be responsible for the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, DI water, and fire protection systems. You will perform routine and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum up-time and operational integrity for our world-class manufacturing lines.

Tanggung Jawab
- Monitor, operate, and maintain facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and DI water.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair facility equipment malfunctions and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of maintenance activities and work orders.
- Assist in the installation, modification, and commissioning of new facility equipment and systems.
- Respond promptly to facility emergencies, incidents, and ad-hoc maintenance requests.
Kualifikasi
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution (high/low voltage), and plumbing systems.
- Possession of relevant competency certificates (e.g., Chargeman, Wireman, Boilerman license) is highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
