The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Factory Automation Engineer to become a pivotal part of our team at the Integrated Smart Manufacturing Facility (ISMF) in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the evolution of our smart factory, where automation and digitalization converge to create world-class semiconductor manufacturing operations.
In this role, you will take ownership of complex automation projects from conception through to completion. You will design, program, and troubleshoot high-performance control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI) and integrate them seamlessly with our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). You will champion the deployment of robotic systems, vision inspection tools, and advanced material handling automation. Your objective is to maximize equipment effectiveness (OEE), improve product quality, and reduce manufacturing cycle times.
We are looking for an engineer who thrives on technical challenges and is passionate about leveraging data and automation to solve problems. You will collaborate heavily with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and IT teams to drive continuous improvement and support new product introductions (NPI) from an automation perspective.

Tanggung Jawab
- Design, develop, and implement factory automation solutions including PLC, SCADA, HMI, and Robotics for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Integrate automation systems with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and ensure seamless data flow per SECS/GEM standards.
- Manage automation projects from concept through commissioning, qualification, and ramp-up, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues to minimize equipment downtime and maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process, Equipment, IT, Operations) to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, architectures, operational procedures (SOP), and training materials.
- Support the deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies, including advanced data analytics, IoT sensor integration, and digital twin simulations.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with safety standards, cleanroom protocols, and company EHS policies.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in factory automation within a semiconductor, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or Omron) and SCADA system development (Ignition, WinCC, iFIX, or similar).
- Experience with industrial robotics (FANUC, Epson, Yaskawa, KUKA) and vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Halcon) is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes (Wafer Fab, Assembly, Test) and equipment automation (SECS/GEM, E84, OHT).
- Proven project management skills with a track record of delivering complex automation projects on time and within scope.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Hands-on experience with MES systems (e.g., Camstar, CIM, 300mm automation) and data analysis tools (Python, SQL, Tableau) is an advantage.
