Bright Prospect is proud to represent a leading M&E subcontractor in Sarawak, seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager (M&E Subcon) to be based in Kuching. This is a high-impact strategic leadership role, offering complete ownership of a critical business unit within a rapidly growing construction market.
As the General Manager, you will be the architect of the company's project delivery success. Your core mandate is to lead the M&E division to achieve operational excellence, ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. You will oversee the full project lifecycle—from strategic tendering and contract negotiation to execution, cost management, and final handover.
Your commercial acumen will be critical. You will drive robust cost control, manage P&L, optimize resource allocation, and identify new business opportunities to expand the company's footprint in Sarawak. Cultivating strong, lasting relationships with top-tier developers, main contractors, and consultants is essential for securing future projects and maintaining a competitive edge.
This role places a strong emphasis on people leadership. You will mentor and empower a dedicated team of project managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to safety regulations. You will standardize operational workflows and implement industry best practices to maximize efficiency across all M&E disciplines, including HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, and plumbing.

Tanggung Jawab
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the M&E division, aligning with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans in Sarawak.
- Oversee the complete project lifecycle for M&E works, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Lead the tender and bid management process, including cost estimation, risk assessment, and contract negotiation with clients and main contractors.
- Drive rigorous cost control and financial management, managing project P&L, cash flow, and reporting to maximize divisional profitability.
- Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, driving revenue growth and market share expansion in Kuching and across Sarawak.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the M&E contracting industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management or General Manager capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex M&E projects (value exceeding RM 20 million) on time and within budget.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in P&L management, cost control, budgeting, and contract law.
- In-depth knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, Fire Protection, Electrical, Plumbing) and local construction regulations in Malaysia/Sarawak.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and client management skills. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
- Possess a valid professional engineering license (e.g., BEM) and a strong network within the Sarawak construction industry.
