As they continue to expand their portfolio, they are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to head their M&E Department.
The Role: Head of M&E Department
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and operational leadership to a team of over 50 engineers and technical staff. You will be responsible for driving the department's growth, ensuring project profitability, implementing robust quality management systems, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and technical compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a balance of strategic vision and practical engineering knowledge.

Tanggung Jawab
- Develop and execute the departmental strategy and business plan, aligning with the overall corporate vision and growth targets.
- Provide ultimate technical authority and governance for all M&E design deliverables, ensuring compliance with local codes (BCA, SCDF, NEA, PUB) and international standards.
- Manage the departmental Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, including budget forecasting, cost control, resource planning, and revenue generation.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and managers, fostering a high-performance culture and structured career development.
- Drive business development activities, building strategic relationships with clients, developers, and main contractors to secure profitable projects.
- Oversee the implementation of quality assurance (ISO 9001) and workplace safety (ISO 45001) management systems within the department.
- Champion innovation in sustainable design (Green Mark, BCA Awards), digital engineering (BIM), and value engineering practices.
- Conduct regular project reviews and technical audits to monitor performance, mitigate risks, and ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. Master's degree in Business or Engineering Management is a plus.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in M&E consulting or contracting, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership or departmental head role.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore is mandatory. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore's building regulations, WSH Act, environmental sustainability codes, and contractual law (SIA/PSSCOC).
- Proven track record in managing a large department (30+ staff) and delivering projects with a total M&E value exceeding S$50 million.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, lead negotiations, and drive business growth.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in managing P&L, budgets, and financial forecasting.
- Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and BIM authoring tools (Revit, Navisworks) is required.
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of solving complex technical and organizational challenges.
