About the Role
Are you a visionary food scientist with a passion for the art and science of chocolate? Our client, a leading name in the confectionery industry, is seeking a strategic and innovative Head of Research & Development (R&D) to lead their product evolution. Based in the industrial hub of Sumedang, West Java, you will be the driving force behind the end-to-end product innovation strategy, from conceptualization to market-ready delights.
As the Head of R&D, you will oversee the chocolate business unit's technical roadmap, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of taste, texture, and quality. You will collaborate closely with marketing, production, and quality assurance teams to create products that resonate with consumers while maintaining cost-efficiency and regulatory compliance. This is a high-impact leadership role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possesses a deep technical understanding of confectionery processing.
Tanggung Jawab
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of all R&D projects related to chocolate and confectionery products.
- Drive innovation through the development of new recipes, formulations, and production techniques to gain a competitive edge.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, including laboratory trials, pilot plant testing, and full-scale production scale-ups.
- Optimize existing product formulations to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance shelf-life stability.
- Stay abreast of global confectionery trends, emerging ingredients, and technological advancements in chocolate manufacturing.
- Ensure all new and existing products comply with BPOM, Halal, and international food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000).
- Mentor and lead a team of R&D specialists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and creative problem-solving.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source and validate high-quality raw materials and ingredients.
Kualifikasi
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in R&D within the Food & Beverage industry, with a specific focus on chocolate or confectionery.
- Proven track record of successfully launching new products in the Indonesian market.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations (BPOM, SNI) and Halal certification processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven approach to product development and sensory evaluation.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required for technical reporting and stakeholder management.
- Willingness to be based in or commute to Sumedang, Jawa Barat.
