- Lead the development and optimization of HPC climate/weather simulations on Frontier‑class supercomputers.
- Collaborate with domain scientists to translate research objectives into robust computational workflows.
- Design and implement scalable parallel code using Fortran, C/C++, MPI/OpenMP, and GPU acceleration techniques.
- Manage HPC job scheduling, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Conduct data assimilation, post‑processing, and visualization of large‑scale model outputs.
- Contribute to the development of automated testing, documentation, and best‑practice guidelines.
- Provide technical training and support to research teams on HPC tools and climate‑modelling frameworks.
- Stay current with emerging HPC architectures, AI/ML integration, and cloud‑hybrid computing trends.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in atmospheric science, climate physics, computational science, or a related field.
- Proven experience with HPC environments and large‑scale climate or weather modelling (e.g., WRF, CESM, NEMO).
- Strong programming skills in Fortran, Python, and familiarity with parallel libraries (MPI, OpenMP, CUDA).
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, batch job schedulers (SLURM, PBS), and workflow managers.
- Understanding of data assimilation techniques and NetCDF/HDF5 data formats.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills in a multicultural research setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Prior experience with cloud‑hybrid HPC or AI/ML pipelines is advantageous.
