Join the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) as an HPC Domain Specialist focused on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and help fuel Singapore’s most ambitious engineering projects. Based at the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) and working on the Frontier supercomputing platform, you will be at the forefront of high‑performance computing, enabling cutting‑edge CFD simulations for industry and research partners.

In this role, you will provide domain‑specific expertise to optimise CFD workflows, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and ensure the reliable operation of large‑scale HPC resources. You will collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and software teams to design, implement, and refine simulation pipelines that leverage the latest HPC architectures. Your insights will directly impact the speed, accuracy, and scalability of engineering analyses, supporting sectors such as aerospace, automotive, energy, and advanced manufacturing.

Tanggung Jawab

  • Lead domain‑specific HPC support for CFD simulations, including workflow design, job scripting, and execution monitoring.
  • Collaborate with research and industry teams to develop, optimise, and validate high‑fidelity CFD models on the Frontier system.
  • Conduct performance profiling and tuning of parallel CFD codes, ensuring efficient utilisation of HPC resources.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, best‑practice guides, and training materials for HPC users.
  • Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting assistance to engineers and scientists working on complex fluid‑dynamics problems.
  • Integrate commercial and open‑source CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM) with NSCC’s HPC infrastructure.
  • Participate in NSCC’s user engagement activities, workshops, and outreach programmes to promote HPC awareness.
  • Stay current with emerging HPC technologies, architectures, and CFD methodologies, and recommend improvements.

Kualifikasi

  • Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or related engineering discipline with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics.
  • Proven experience with HPC environments, including job schedulers such as SLURM, PBS, or LSF.
  • Demonstrated expertise in CFD software packages (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR‑CCM+, OpenFOAM) and post‑processing tools.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Fortran for simulation automation and performance optimisation.
  • Experience in parallel CFD simulations, mesh handling, and large‑scale data management.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project‑management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Familiarity with NSCC or other national supercomputing facilities is advantageous.
