Jurutera Jasa Sarawak, a prestigious engineering consultancy based in Sarawak, is renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and civil works. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Inspector of Works (IOW) to join our team in Kota Samarahan. This role is crucial in ensuring that our project execution meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
As an Inspector of Works, you will be responsible for the daily supervision of on-site construction activities, monitoring workmanship, materials, and methods to ensure strict adherence to project specifications and drawings. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical challenges promptly, and you will document all findings through detailed inspection reports. Your vigilance will be key in maintaining the integrity and longevity of our infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate is a BEM-registered IOW with a Diploma in Civil Engineering and proven experience in supervising road and bridge construction. Tanggung Jawab
- Supervise and inspect road and bridge construction to ensure conformity with approved plans, specifications, and standards.
- Conduct regular quality control tests on materials and workmanship; identify and report non-conformances.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve site issues and ensure timely progress.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports detailing progress, defects, and corrective actions.
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies on all project sites.
- Verify that all as-built works are accurately documented and assist in project handover processes.
- Participate in site meetings and provide technical input to support decision-making.
Kualifikasi
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification recognized by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Registered with BEM as an Inspector of Works (IOW) – valid certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in supervising road, bridge, or related civil engineering projects.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and Malaysian standards (JKR, MS, etc.).
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and familiarity with project management tools.
- Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites within Kota Samarahan and surrounding areas.
