Okapi Solar is an early-stage fintech startup that is accelerating the energy transition in Malaysia by disrupting the residential solar industry. We are building a technology-driven platform to make clean energy financing accessible, transparent, and seamless for homeowners across the country.
We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and product leaders to develop, test, and deploy the software systems that power our core platform and user-facing applications.

Tanggung Jawab
- Develop and maintain software features for our fintech and solar platform using Python and JavaScript.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to define and implement new features.
- Assist in building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and team standups.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across the stack.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of professional software development experience or relevant internship experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript (Node.js / React).
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and version control (Git).
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and DevOps principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and climate technology is a major plus.
