Shimizu is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead/Senior Hydrogeologist to join our prestigious international construction and infrastructure project team. In this pivotal role, you will be based in Vanuatu, leading critical water resource assessments, groundwater modeling, and environmental impact studies for large-scale engineering developments.
As a senior technical authority, you will provide expertise in hydrological analysis, ensuring that all site developments adhere to international safety standards and sustainable water management practices. You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams and local stakeholders, navigating the unique geological and climatic challenges of the South Pacific region. Tanggung Jawab
- Lead and oversee comprehensive hydrogeological investigations, including field mapping, drilling supervision, and borehole logging.
- Develop and execute complex groundwater flow models to predict aquifer behavior and project water availability.
- Manage the design and implementation of groundwater monitoring networks and water quality sampling programs.
- Interpret geological and hydrogeological data to provide actionable recommendations for project foundation and construction design.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure full compliance with environmental and water management regulations.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical oversight on all water-related sub-consultancy deliverables.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, risk assessments, and environmental impact statements for international stakeholders.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or Civil Engineering (Hydrology focus).
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency in hydrogeological modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience in tropical island environments or complex geological settings is highly advantageous.
- Strong technical report writing and data visualization skills.
- Excellent project management capabilities with a proven track record of meeting strict construction timelines.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local language or previous international project experience is a plus.
