Ateneo de Manila University is seeking a visionary and highly organized Librarian III to lead the Pardo de Tavera Section. This is a prestigious leadership opportunity for an experienced information professional to manage one of our most significant archival and special collections.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, preservation standards, and operational workflows of the section. You will work closely with researchers, faculty, and students, ensuring that the Pardo de Tavera collection remains a vital resource for academic inquiry. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in archival management with a passion for fostering an inclusive and efficient library environment.
As Section Head, you will act as a bridge between historical preservation and modern information literacy, ensuring that our unique materials are not only maintained to the highest standards but are also accessible to the academic community through innovative digital and physical initiatives.
Tanggung Jawab
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Pardo de Tavera Section operations.
- Oversee the curation, preservation, and maintenance of rare archival materials and special collections.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate library staff to ensure high-performance service standards.
- Manage the sectionâs administrative functions, including budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation.
- Facilitate research support for faculty, students, and external scholars utilizing the collection.
- Develop and implement outreach programs to increase collection visibility and usage.
- Collaborate with other university library departments on cross-functional preservation and digitization projects.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelorâs Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS) or related field; Masterâs Degree in Library Science or Archives/Records Management is preferred.
- Must be a Licensed Professional Librarian (PRC).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an academic library, archival, or museum setting.
- Strong background in collection management, metadata standards, and archival preservation practices.
- Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record in team supervision.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and Filipino.
- Proficiency in integrated library systems and digital repository management software.
