UCSI International School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Teacher to join our team in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. We are seeking a passionate individual who can manage and deliver an engaging library and information program that supports the academic and personal growth of our students. As a Library Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a love for reading, research skills, and information literacy across the school community.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in library science and education, with the ability to create a welcoming environment that encourages students to explore new worlds through books and digital resources. You will work closely with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum and ensure the library serves as a vibrant hub of learning for the entire school.
Tanggung Jawab
- Manage the daily operations of the school library, including circulation, shelving, and organization of resources.
- Curate a diverse and up-to-date collection of print and digital materials to support the curriculum and student interests.
- Instruct students and staff on effective research strategies, information evaluation, and citation methods.
- Collaborate with teachers to design library-based lessons and projects that enhance learning outcomes.
- Organize and promote library events, such as book fairs, reading weeks, and author visits.
- Oversee the maintenance of library software and ensure access to online databases and e-resources.
- Provide individualized assistance to students with research assignments and reading recommendations.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching certification or experience working in a school library environment.
- Strong knowledge of children's and young adult literature.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and library management systems (e.g., Follett Destiny).
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
