We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team in Penang, Malaysia. As a Manufacturing Technician at Coherent, you will be entrusted with operating advanced automated machinery, performing precision assembly and testing of sophisticated optical and electronic components, and troubleshooting equipment to maintain optimal performance and uptime. You will collaborate closely with process engineers, quality assurance teams, and production supervisors to support continuous improvement initiatives, strictly adhering to rigorous safety and quality standards like ISO 9001 and 5S. Your keen attention to detail and strong technical aptitude will be essential in identifying process deviations, conducting root cause analysis, and driving effective corrective actions.

Tanggung Jawab
- Operate, set up, and perform preventive maintenance on advanced manufacturing equipment used in laser diode and photonic component assembly.
- Conduct rigorous in-process quality inspections, functional tests, and visual inspections to ensure products meet stringent optical and mechanical specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate equipment and process issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Accurately document production data, yield reports, non-conformance findings, and work instructions in compliance with ISO and internal audit standards.
- Actively support and participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to enhance cycle time, yield, and workplace safety.
- Assist engineering teams in new product introductions (NPI), process characterization, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to 5S principles and EHS protocols.
- Cross-train colleagues and provide guidance to junior technicians on standard operating procedures and best practices.
Kualifikasi
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or Material Science) or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of proven experience working as a technician in a semiconductor, optics, electronics, or precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, statistical process control (SPC), equipment maintenance, and quality assurance principles.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting ability using root cause analysis techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or ERP systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, including flexibility for shift work or overtime as required.
