AmBank is seeking an energetic and results-driven Merchant Relationship Manager to join our retail banking division in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In this critical growth role, you will be instrumental in expanding our merchant footprint, driving revenue growth, and building robust, long-term relationships with local businesses.
As a Merchant Relationship Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our merchant partners, offering them cutting-edge payment solutions, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and advanced digital banking services. You will proactively identify market opportunities, acquire high-value merchant accounts, and work closely with existing clients to maximize transaction volumes and encourage the adoption of value-added financial products.

Tanggung Jawab
- Identify, pitch, and acquire new merchant accounts to expand AmBank’s market share in Kota Kinabalu and surrounding Sabah regions.
- Manage and nurture an assigned portfolio of merchant accounts, ensuring high retention and active utilization of merchant payment solutions.
- Drive merchant portfolio revenue growth through systematic account activation, upselling, and cross-selling of financial products.
- Conduct regular market visits and product demonstrations to potential business clients, highlighting the benefits of AmBank’s merchant services.
- Collaborate with internal risk, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless merchant onboarding and prompt query resolution.
- Analyze transaction data and merchant performance trends to identify new growth corridors and optimize portfolio profitability.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, acting as a trusted advisor to merchant partners on payment technologies and financial trends.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in merchant acquisition, corporate sales, or relationship management within the banking, fintech, or payment industry.
- Strong knowledge of payment ecosystems, credit card processing, merchant acquiring, and POS terminal solutions.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales and relationship development targets in a highly competitive environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in the Sabah region.
- Possess a valid driver's license and own transport for regular local client visits.
