This role is a strategic leadership position designed for a specialist capable of overseeing complex protection and control design lifecycles, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with international standards.
As the Design Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, bridging the gap between theoretical design and practical field application. Tanggung Jawab
- Lead and oversee the full design lifecycle for Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear systems, including protection and control schematics.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, ensuring high quality and adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate switchgear design with broader electrical power systems.
- Manage technical documentation, design reviews, and compliance certifications (IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement in design processes, implementing industry best practices for cost-efficiency and performance.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for complex project issues and client technical requirements.
- Ensure that all designs meet localized regulatory standards in Malaysia as well as international quality benchmarks.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience specifically within MV switchgear design, protection, and control.
- Strong proficiency in industry-standard software tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or SKM).
- Comprehensive knowledge of international standards (IEC 62271, IEEE C37, etc.).
- Proven track record in a leadership or managerial capacity, supervising technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
- Open to international professionals/expats with relevant global project experience.
